Fashion Faux Pas-Prego looking Shirts

Writing this a bit late, but here is you "Fashion Faux Pas" for Friday.

We will be taking a look at those "too big for you", "flowy" "Are you pregnant" shirts.

Some women do have really big boobs so they can kind of get away with it. Still looks preggy though.

Even a skinny model can look preggo if wearing the wrong color or shape. I got this pic from

http://uglyshitfromforever21.blogspot.com This blog will make you have so much. He says the funniest stuff about the clothes Forever 21 sells. Check it out if you want a good laugh

Wearing baggy pants with a flowy top definitely makes you look preggo.

Friday Fashion Faux Pas-Bad Dye Jobs

Today on Friday Fashion Faux Pas we will discuss bad hair dye jobs. I'm sure everyone has had a bad dye job as one point or another. The best advice I can give is to get it done by a professional!

I got wild one time and decided to do some blue streaks in my hair. Don't ever use this stuff, "Manic Panic". It looks terrible. I'd post a pic but I got it fixed like the day after I did it. I love, love, love unique colors and out of the norm hair styles and colors though. I usually only get my hair done once a year because it is so expensive.

One thing that is super, super tacky and gross is a half done hair dye job. The above is a thinning, stringy, greasy mess. If your hair is going grey, dye it until it is all grey. Don't leave all half grey and half a weird color. Gross.
Blue streaks on greyish hair? Never do this.
This might look ok if the whole hair was done in pink. It's not a bad color for her complexion. But this half and half stuff is ridiculous.
And spotty purple everywhere? Yeah please don't ever do this. U-G-L-Y!

This, for example is a lovely do for an older lady. The hair looks healthy and well taken care of. Even though it is short it doesn't look like she is losing her hair. Nicely done!

Thanksgiving Outfit-Jeggings and Peep toe booties

Here is my fashion post for Thanksgiving I promised! I didn't get a super clear shot of my outfit because I totally forgot to take one specifically of it. We were doing family pics and got distracted.

This is the best shot of my outfit from top to bottom. I know the quality is pretty poor but it's still
cute.

I chose a mint cami and layered with a grey sweater vest. The cami pictured is $14 and the vest $35.
You know me, of course I didn't pay that much for them!
My cami-Wet Seal had a 5 camis for $20 deal which I took advantage of. This is one of them.
My sweater vest- Goodwill for $3

I'm often inspired by Miley Cyrus(above) for my fashion choices. She loves jeggings as much as I do. If you don't know what jeggings are, they are currently "in". They are a basically denim leggings. Jeans that are a soft material and skin tight like leggings.

Booties are also "in". Mine are similar to these except they are peep toe. And of course I didn't pay $65.
My Grey Peep-toe booties-bought at a yard sale for $5.

Another celebrity fashion inspiration, Gwynth Paltrow, wearing Grey peep-toe booties.

Hope you enjoyed my outfit recap and got some fashion inspiration!

Friday Fashion Faux Pas-Bad Bangs

For this Friday's Fashion Faux Pas we are going to be laughing at bad bangs.

Wow here are some bad, bad bangs. If you can call them that. First pic is like a mullet or something. The bangs aren't even distinguishable from the rest of the hair. The top two have a super bad dye job. Who dyes their bangs? For some reason macaroni and cheese comes to mind. The bottom girl needs her bangs trimmed. They should be side swept or short enough to be bangs. And the last chicks bangs are awful because they are cut straight across. Such a straight across cut makes her hair look like a wig.

Here we go. These are so much better. The first picture is cut straight across but there is shape to the bangs and they are not in her eyes. The top pic is a gorgeous example of side swept bangs. They are very nicely blended into the rest of her hair. And the last pic is a pretty good example of a good side swept bang. It's me of course so I'm a little critical, I think they need to be blended in just a tad bit more but otherwise perfection!

Fashion Faux Pas-Bad Lipliner

So this Friday's Fashion Faux Pas is bad lip liner. Technically lip liner isn't really necessary if you have a lipstick or gloss that looks great on you. To be honest there really isn't a reason to even wear lip liner. I don't wear it, it looks fake and tacky to me. Don't get me wrong though, some people can pull it off, and a lot of makeup artists will use it and make it look great.

1. Don't ever use black lip liner! Even if you are African American, don't use it! As you can tell in the big pic to the left it looks like she took a pencil to her mouth. The two pictures to the right are just like whaaaat? Someone take that sharpie away from them please! The middle top pic is better, at least the colors are closer but you can still tell the difference in lip liner and lipstick. One word. Clown. The bottom middle is closer in color as well, but that is just a bad color to begin with. Unless it is Halloween, you want to go for as natural a look as possible. Too much or outrageous makeup just screams insecurity, trying too hard or sometimes just plain ignorance.

If you HAVE to use lip liner the key is blend, blend, blend. There should be a seamless transition from lip liner to lipstick.

This is very pretty and natural.

This is also very tasteful. A little spicy with a darker shade of red but still not over the top. And no crazy lip liner lines!

Another Fashion Faux-Pas Friday!

Hehe this is fun! I love doing Fashion Faux Pas. You can find some good ones on Peopleofwalmart.com (Disclaimer: All photos were taken from the internet, non-watermarked and are public domain which means they can be edited however the user sees fit.)

Here is the first one I like to call "Mom" jeans. It's those jeans or super long shorts or crazy looking capris that make you look like you have thunder thighs and were born in the 50s. But hey they are so comfy its ok right? Um No! It is not ok and "mom" jeans are never ok! I don't care how old you are or how many kids you have.

Take the first left pic, the jeans are too loose and baggy, probably very comfortable but they add about 25 lbs. Bottom left are just ugh. The waist is too high giving the impression of a huuuuge muffin top. And a camel toe. Straight legs just don't look good on short people. And by short I mean under 6 feet. It makes you look shorter and fatter. The bottom right...what are those things...shorts? They are almost long enough to be capri's but I see some knee there. (O and another tip, if your knees look white and you are not a panda bear, put some lotion on those suckers. When you make WHITE people look ashy its bad, real bad.) Back to those short things. They are super loose around the thigh making already huge thighs look gigantic. No thunder thighs here, more like hurricane thighs lol!

Ok here are some more no, nos! Left-I mean what are those things? Capris? Whatever they are they make that person look fat. Next top image-First find some pants that fit, I'll all about big butts but don't let it hang out and definitely don't let everyone know you have Child Support Tattooed across your ass. It just screams "lazy, jobless, pathetic mom who probably spends her kids support money on tats, alcohol and weed. Under that-Now I have nothing against skinny people. I'm skinny and people tell me to eat a burger all the time. Some people are born skinny and no matter what they do they can't gain weight. And that's ok. But there is a thing called a belt hellooo! Next top right-If your pants are too tight they are going to push up all that fat and create a "muffin top". And wear a decent shirt, nobody likes rolls with their muffins. And last but not least-I admire a nice bubble butt as much as the next person but when its literally hanging out the bottom...well you have to draw the line somewhere.

Now this is how to wear some jeans! You have a whole row in the first pic. They are not all the same type of jean, different jeans fit different bodies better. The backs are tight enough around the but to show she is a woman but loose enough in other areas to show she is a class woman. No thunder thighs, no ass cracks, no tramp stamps. Lovely. The second pic is hard to see but when I was putting this together I came across this and thought is was pretty. And last but not least, my jeans. I think I did a decent job, nice bubble but without a muffin top and loose enough keep'em guessing right?

Fashion Faux Pas #1-Crocks

Ok so Friday I've decided to do a section called "Fashion Faux Pas." Some of it will be helpful tips but it will mostly be funny, ridiculous outfits and such people decide to wear. Hey, everyone needs a good laugh on a Friday! And if you happen to wear an article of clothing I mention that is ridiculous don't be offended...it's all in good fun!

So first I want to blog about Crocks. Not many people even like crocks. At least not the 16-30 year olds.

Lots of Grandma's like them, and they are good for old people to reduce the likelihood of slipping and falling. But if you aren't a grandma...no way you should be caught dead in them. Ok, ok yeah they are supposedly comfortable to wear but with all those holes, can you imagine the foot order reeking out? That is what they make comfortable, breathable running shoes duh!

Ok I admit it, I do have crock like shoes for my girls. I said crock "like" shoes. They are rubber and easy to get on and off, no Velcro or ties. But you know what? That's ok. They are are 3 and 5. Not a full grown woman in her late 40s.

So you know what you need to do with these disgusting, fashion betraying crock like wanna bes? Take the and feed the to the gators! Unless of course you want to resemble an old grandma or a kindergarten student. Looks wise you could pass as a grandma but brainwise they would put you right in K-5! Haha!

Moral of the story? Don't wear crocks, crock wanna-bes or crock look alikes. Your rank on the fashion scale with instantly plummet.d

                                                                 w

So what are your impressions of crocks?

New Year Beauty Tips 2013

Today we have a guest post on fashion for 2013. Feel free to pin any of these tips. Enjoy!

New Year Beauty

Some beauty trends are classic. The little black dress, a pair of great jeans and a sophisticated pair of red heels will always be fashionable.

But every year, there are certain trends that designers unveil in their fall line that will be really hot for the upcoming year.

For 2013, there are numerous trends that women from all walks of life can incorporate into their wardrobe and makeup kit, ensuring that they look like they really in-the-know when it comes to fashion.

Velvet

Velvet has been around for years, and a great black velvet jacket really never goes out of style, at least for a man.

But for women, velvet hasn’t exactly been the trendiest of materials in recent years.

In 2013, expect to see lots of velvet blazers, dresses and pants, as well as shoes and scarves.

The great thing about velvet is that it’s a heavy fabric that will keep you warm in the colder parts of the winter and look great at the same time.

Statement Nails

Nail polish has always had its place, but many designers chose to go with a more natural look in recent years, opting for a light gloss or more natural colors.

In 2013, designers are making a bold statement with nails in bright colors with all kinds of designs.

A lot of designers went for bold geometric patterns in daring colors, and this can work for a lot of women that don’t want to limit themselves when it comes to what clothes they can wear by using a more recognizable design.

You can play around with painting your nails in different colors if you want, but for a great, quick look, you’ll probably need to find a salon near you.

Chunky Heels

If you’re like a lot of women, you dread walking around in heels that offer no support, but you might do it anyway, even for long periods of time, just to look great.

You’re not going to have to do that, at least not as much, in 2013.

That’s because chunky heels that offer more support are coming back in style.

Look for a variety of different designers to employ the chunky heel in both casual shoes for everyday wear and shoes designed for more formal events.

Even designers that don’t force you to pay a small fortune for their shoes will be using the chunky heel this year, so you might even be able to save a couple of bucks by shopping around in person and online.

Blue Eyeshadow

Like statement nails, bold, colorful shades of eyeshadow lit up the runways at the end of 2012.

Designers and their makeup artists were making quite a statement by using shades like turquoise and green this year instead of more basic and earthy colors.

A lot of runway models were done up with unique applications of eye shadow as well, partly because of the bold color.

After all, turquoise eye shadow might look great, but when you apply it to the whole lid, there’s a good chance it’s going to look a little silly, even at a fashion show.

If you don’t want to go with such a bold color of eyeshadow, try mixing it in with a more basic color or covering it up just a little bit with a nude eye shadow.

That way you’ll still get the pop of a bright color without the “hey-look-at-me” factor.

Teal eyeliner was also a big hit in recent shows, and it might be just the bold style you’re looking for without being quite as noticeable as blue or green eye shadow.

Cherry Red Lips

Red lipstick is something that almost every woman in the world owns, or at the very least, has thought about buying. After all, red lipstick is a classic fashion accessory.

In 2013, cherry red and bright shades of lip color are going to be very popular, and you’ll likely see them in print ads and at your local makeup counter all year.

Bright red lipsticks are a great way to add color to your look, especially if you tend to wear a lot of black or navy blue in the winter time.

Make It Work For You

At first you may feel like you can’t accomplish these trends, but you can.

Figure what silhouettes flatter your body shape the most and buy a jacket or dress in velvet in a color that compliments your skin tone.

Play around with your nails at home or go to your favorite stylist. Find pictures of designs online that you’d like to try.

Chunky heels are seriously being made in every style that you can think of so just go on a shopping trip with a gal pal and find the one that suits your personality.

Although blue eyeshadow was the devil for a while (thank you 1980’s) it’s making a serious comeback. Stop by a makeup counter at your favorite department store or look on Youtube for a tutorial to help you apply.

Anyone can do red lips, it’s just about finding the right shade for you.

If you just take some time you’ll be able to have fun with all these trends and put your own personal spin on them.

Black Lace Heels

Ok I have to admit, I've been slightly obsessed with lace lately. Its a hot trend right now showing up on the runways and and in top designers work. I just think lace is so classy and elegant. Pair my love of lace with my love of stilettos, and lace heels just make me feel all warm and fuzzy. I went looking for a pair to buy and came across several I liked.
Black lace heels from one of my favorite designers Christian Louboutin. These go for around $800.

Dolce & Gabbana heels for $595.

Jimmy Choo heels for $900.

Obviously not in my price range haha! Undaunted, I knew I could find an affordable pair. So I went looking on ebay and found a pair by Pleaser. Guess how much I paid? $9!!! Score!! (of course I did snipe them at the last minute hehe!)

My Prize!

Black lace heels are very versatile. They are dressy enough for black tie events, and casual enough to wear with jeans.
